PGIMER MD / MS 2018 January Result

As can be seen, the entrance exam question paper has 250 questions. There are 5 options in each question. This brings us to overall 1250 response options.

Now you already know that one ore more options can be correct. Therefore there are say “c” number of correct responses, and let us say that the number of incorrect responses is “i” (such that c+i=1250).

In the exam, you mark some question as correct. Out of them, some are actually correct. Say the number of correct options marked is “cm”, and incorrect marked are “im”. In this case, your percentage score comes as per the following formula:

Percentage score= [cm/c–im/i]×100.

This is how PGI Chandigarh gets the percentage. Then percentile score calculation takes place.

Percentile= [(B+(0.5×E))/N]×100.

B = number of scores below the candidate’s score, E = number of scores equal to the candidate’s score. N = number of candidates appearing for exam.
