NEET SS 2020 Exam Pattern
- The question paper will have two parts, namely part A and part B.
- There will be 100 questions in total.
- There will be different question paper for each speciality course / broader speciality course.
- 40% weight age will be given to the feeder broad speciality course and 60% to the super speciality course selected by the candidate at the time of online submission of application form.
- The mode of conduct of NEET SS is MCQ based and Computer based.
- The NEET SS is conducted in English language only.
- There is 25% negative marking in the NEET SS examination.
- For every incorrect answer : 1 mark deducted.
- For every correct answer : 4 marks allotted.
- Duration of the Exam : 3 hours and 30 minutes
Criteria for NEET SS Syllabus
As stated above the NEET SS question paper is divided into 2 categories which are Part A and Part B. Here is the brief explanation of both.
Part A – 40% weightage
The questions in this category are from the eligible feeder broad speciality course. But students need to take care of the fact that if there is only a single feeder broad speciality course for a particular super specialty then Part A will have questions from that speciality only. But if there are multiple feeder broad specialty courses, the Part A will consists questions from all of them.
For instance, For super speciality course in Cardiology, the eligible feeder broad specialities are General Medicine, Pediatrics and Respiratory Medicine, so it will contain questions from all of them.
Part B – 60% weightage
The Part B will have 60 questions in all which are from the pertaining super speciality, topics from tthe PG exit level course and basic sciences applied in the medical field.
NEET SS 2020 Eligibility
Candidates who have completed their MD/MS/DNB from recognized medical institutions are eligible to apply for the NEET SS examination. Besides that, there are some other conditions for applying to the NEET SS examination as well which you can check from below.
- Candidates should possess their medical registration certificate.
- Candidates who are foreign nationals can apply for the NEET SS examination without the permanent MCI registration. All they need to do is arrange a temporary one from the authorised facility.
- Candidates who are still doing their MD/MS/DNB cannot apply for the NEET SS examination.
ABOUT NEET SS
The NEET SS stands for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality courses. It is a single gateway in securing admission in DM/MCH courses.
