NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is the national level medical test which is regulated by the CBSE. This exam is standard for both government and private medical colleges in India.

Earlier, there was AIPMT exam for medical aspirants, but from 2017 NEET has replaced this AIPMT exam. It is compulsory for all the medical college whether it is private or government, to fill their college seats by the score of NEET examination only. There are around 426 medical colleges in India that provide 53,330 seats. Except for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), all the colleges have to consider NEET Score for MBBS Examination. There will be no monopoly of private institutions for reserving the seat. Only deserving candidates will get the seat.

NEET Exam Pattern

Aspirants need to explain the pattern of NEET 2018 to crack the exam.

  • The pattern of NEET will be MCQ based.
  • It will be offline mode means paper-pen based. It will contain a single paper, in which student has to face 180 questions.
  • The exam will be of duration three hours, and it will compose of four sections. Sections will be Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Physics. Each section will contain 45 questions.
  • The question will bear total 720 as maximum marks, which means four marks for every correct question.
  • One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The student will be provided the additional option of selecting their language for trying exam. There will be eight languages, and they will be English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Telugu, and Marathi.
