Medical Counselling Committee will conduct NEET PG 2018 Counselling. It will be held for only those candidates who have qualified the entrance examination. The counselling will be for admission to PG courses in All India 50% quota, State Quota Seats in Government /Private Medical Institutions in a State, and DNB courses broad specialty. For admission through the given aspects, different authorities will conduct counseling. NBE has no role in counseling for All India 50% quota and State Quota seats, however, it is responsible for conducting the counseling for admission to DNB courses. The candidates will be considered for counseling, only if they obtain minimum cut off percentile in NEET PG 2018. Also, after the declaration of result, the mark sheet-cum-result certificate for NEET PG 2018 for All India 50% Quota will be available online at the official website of NBE.

NEET PG 2018 Counselling

In order to participate in the counselling for NEET PG 2018, the selected candidate need to register first and then exercise their options for the various Institute/ Universities. After exercising the options, they will be allocated a seat. The admission will be granted to candidates on the basis of the merit in the entrance exam, choices filled and availability of seats. NEET PG 2018 Counselling Registration

Candidates can check the step by step procedure to participate in the counseling:

Step 1: Registration

  • The selected candidate shall firstly need will need to first register online at MCC website,
  • Next, the candidate has to enter detail such as Testing ID/Confirmation Number, Application Number/Testing ID, their name, & Date of Birth.
  • Submit the details by clicking on “Submit” button

Step 2: Exercising of Choices, indicative seat allotment process, and Locking of choices

  • The applicant need to log in again by entering the details like their Testing ID/ Roll Number, selecting the stream, Password.
  • In the online allotment process, you shall have to fill in choice of subjects and Institutions/ colleges in order of preference.
  • Candidates can choose as many options as possible. However, choices should be in the order of preference, as the allotment will be done on the basis of choices submitted by the qualified candidate in order of preference.
  • Once the choice is filled in, it can be modified before locking it. During the choice locking period, it is necessary to lock the choices to get a print of your submitted choices.
  • If a candidate does not lock the choice, the submitted choices will be automatically locked on the notified date and time, however, you will be allowed to take a print of your choices after that but you will not be permitted to modify your choices.

Step 3: Seat Allotment Result – The result of the seat allotment will be published online at the MCC official website. The candidates will be allotted seat on their merit in the entrance exam, availability of seat in the respective colleges and choices given by the candidate. To check the result for seat allotment, the candidate shall have to enter details such as Testing ID/ Roll Number, Password.

Step 4: Reporting at the allotted Medical/Dental College
After the declaration of the seat allotment result, the candidate need to report at the allotted College as per the schedule. At the time of reporting to the allotted college, the candidate should carry the following documents in original:

  1. Admit Card issued by NBE
  2. Result/Rank Letter issued by NBE
  3. Mark Sheets of MBBS/BDS 1st, 2nd & 3rd Professional Examinations
  4. MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate
  5. Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the Head of Institution or College that the candidate shall complete the Internship by 31st March, of the year of admission
  6. Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI or DCI/State Medical or Dental Counsel. Provision Registration Certificate is acceptable only in cases where candidate is undergoing internship land likely to complete the same on or before 31st March of year of admission
  7. High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
  8. One of the identification proofs (ID Proof) such as PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport or Aadhar Card.
  9. SC/ST/OBC Certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable)
  10. Orthopaedic Physical Disability {Physically Handicapped (PH)} Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Boards. (if applicable)

Note: Also, at the allotted college, the candidate shall have to give their willingness for upgradation to Round 2 of Counselling. Also, the Certificates issued by the competent authority should be in English or Hindi language.

Second round of online allotment process

The 2nd round of online allotment process is basically Fresh choice filling and fresh allotment of seat as per choice and merit.There is no fresh registration of candidates. During the second round of online allotment process, the choice of higher preference will be considered for up-gradation for those candidates who opted to upgrade their choice at the time of admission at allotted Medical/Dental College. During Round 2, fresh allotment will be considered for those eligible candidates who could not be allotted seat due to non-availability of a seat in Round-1.

Who will be eligible to appear for the 2nd round of Seat Allotment Process?
The candidates eligible for seat allotment in the 2nd round would be either from one of the following groups:

  • Group A: The registered candidates who did not get any seat allotted in the 1st round.
  • Group B: The registered candidates, whose seat in 01st round got canceled at the document verification due to change of category. The candidates who have changed their category from Reserved to Unreserved or PH status from Yes to No. However, such candidates are still eligible for the next round of seat allotment, with changed Category, subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions.

  • Group C: The candidates who reported to the allotted college and submitted their willingness to participate in second round upgradation as Yes.

Who shall not be eligible for 2nd Round of allotment?
The following candidate shall not be eligible to participate in the Second round of Allotment:

  1. The candidates who did not report at the allotted Institute.
  2. Those reported at the allotted Institute, however, they withdraw from counseling.
  3. Those candidates who became non-eligible due to change of category.
  4. The students who did not opt for upgradation at the allotted Institute/ College.

What is Conversion of Seats?
The conversion of seats will be carried out during the second round of seat allotment. The conversion of vacant reserved seats will be done as per the following algorithm after allotment of the seat during Round-2 to PH/Reserved category candidates:

  • ST(PH) -> ST
  • SC(PH) -> SC
  • UR (PH) -> UR
  • OBC(PH) -> OBC
  • ST -> SC
  • SC-> UR

After the round 02 is completed
After the completion of Round of Seat Allotment Process, the All India Quota seats remaining vacant after last date for joining shall be deemed to be converted into State quota.

NEET PG 2018 State Counselling

NBE shall not be preparing the merit list for any State quota seats / Private Medical College / Universities. Different states have different eligibility criteria and reservation policies. Merit list including category and category wise merit will be prepared by the concerned States based on applicable regulations and other guidelines.
