How to Check NEET 2020 Result?

There is no other medium to check NEET result 2020 but from the official website. The simple process to check the result of NEET 2020 is as follows:

  • Click on the direct link which will be given above for checking the NEET Result 2020 as soon as it is available.
  • A new window will open and it shall appear as follows:
  • The candidates need to log in by entering their NEET 2020 Application Number and Password.
  • Click on “Submit” button
  • On completion of the above-given steps, check your result and finally take its print out for future reference.

Candidates are advised to download their Result and save a copy of it. It will be needed during counseling and admission.

Who will Not be Able to Check their Result?

The NTA will not release of the NEET 2020 Result of the following candidates:

  1. Those who used Unfair Means Practices
  2. Likewise, those candidates who appeared at the test center other than the one allotted to them, write on the Test booklet/OMR Sheet of other candidates or allow other candidates to write on their Test Booklet/OMR Sheet.

NEET 2020 Merit List

The NTA will prepare an All India Merit List on the basis marks obtained by the candidate in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). NTA will only include those candidates in merit list who will score more than the minimum qualifying percentile. Two types of merit list are available for NEET 2020:

  1. Merit list for Counselling under 15% All India Quota
  2. Merit List for Seats Other Than 15% All India Quota

NTA will prepare 15% All India merit list for those who applied under the quota seats. The Board will then forward the merit list to DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats.

Whereas, for admission under other than 15% All India Quota, i.e., State Medical Colleges/ Universities/ Institutions, the NTA provides only All India Rank. NTA gives the result to DGHS, to forward the same to the Admitting Authorities. The candidates then have to apply at the official website of the Admitting Authorities. These authorities then draw a merit list of the candidates in the respective categories.

Tie Breaker Criteria to Get Correct NEET 2020 Result

In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in NEET 2020, their inter-se merit will be determined as per the below given rules:

  • The candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test will be placed higher in the merit.
  • If there is still a tie, the marks obtained by the candidate in Chemistry section is taken into account to break the tie.
  • If the tie is still not resolved, then the candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the Test will be ranked higher in the merit.
  • Even after this if the tie persists, then the age of the candidate is taken into consideration. This means that candidates older in age will be preferred over the younger candidate.

Re-evaluation of NEET 2020 Result

The result of NEET 2020 will not be re-evaluated under any circumstances. The answers are checked through the machine and the possibility of error is close to none. Also, NTA did provide candidates an opportunity to report errors in the OMR. At that time, the scrutiny was done and required changes were made. Hence, there shall be no provision for NEET 2020 Result re-checking.

NEET 2020 Counselling

After the announcement of Result, the counselling will begin. The candidates whose name is included in the merit list will then be eligible to appear for NEET 2020 Counselling. The counselling for candidates under 15% All India Quota seats will be done by Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Whereas, the State Quota Counselling, will be held by the concerned authorities. At the time of Counselling, the candidates need to report as per the schedule is given along with the relevant proof for Date of Birth, Academic Background, Category, etc.

To appear for the counselling under other than 15% All India Quota Seats, the candidates need to first apply for counselling at the concerned State Authorities official website. The Admitting Authorities will prepare the merit list on the basis of All India Rank.

About NEET 2020

News says approx. 600 aspirants didn’t receive questions & omr sheets, wherein photocopies were used to fulfill them. who can say the NEET2018 was held successfully.? who doesn’t know question papers were not leaked yet?, who doesn’t know malpractice were not happened? who doesn’t know those hard studied were not cheated yet? .since Neet was implemented, the fees in self financing colleges were hiked like a long range rocket, there was controversy always, nobody taken any action yet. this time also No any clarification from the authorities so far. who can guarantee about the transparency in this exam. ? Life of the children’s are playing by some hands.

    • Hi Saheb. I think you have chances of admission. Actually there is no data to verify this as there is no factual NEET past year cut off for BHMS admissions. However, I think you have a fair chance.

    • Hi Preyanshu. Usually cut off for MBBS admission in UP is around 11k. You have better chances of getting a BDS seat. However, you must participate in counselling because cut offs often vary for several reasons. Best of luck!

      • the cutoff for previous year was a bit high for obc candidates. there can be a chance of you getting a seat in counselling. So attend the counselling for your own good and information related to seat allocation.

    • yes you can get a seat in mbbs or bams or bhms, depends on your score, your state of origin and the cutoff marks for the course you want to apply for. Do attend the counselling if you get any college then only resign from your nursing institute otherwise dont resign from there without attending the counselling.
