Why will NTA conduct NEET 2019 once a year?
Initially National Testing Agency was supposed to conduct NEET exam 2019 twice a year. However, MOHFW pointed out several concerns such as the following:
- Class 12 students will have a lot of pressure because they will have to appear for several exams from February to May.
- There has to be a large question pool for 16 sessions. Therefore this may dilute the novelty of the exam.
Therefore, MHRD decided to roll back changes in NEET 2019. Now therefore the exam will be once a year.
Why will NTA conduct NEET 2019 in offline mode?
MHRD had announced in July 2018 that NEET 2019 will be an online computer based test. However now the online exam stands cancelled. Instead, it will be an offline pen and paper based test. This is because of one major reason given below.
- Candidates from rural areas would face problems with online exam. This is because they do not have easy access to technology and will face problems while appearing in online exam.
