But what is percentile? And how do I know whether I am clearing the cut off with marks?

Calculating percentile

In simple terms, percentile represents the number of test takers who have scored less than you in an exam. So for example, there are 14 lakh test takers, and you have rank 5000, then your percentile is

[(1400000-5000) / 1400000 ]* 100 = 99.64 percentile

But your question is valid that is how will you calculate percentile because you don’t yet know your rank, right. That is why you will also know the marks corresponding to cut off.
