The candidates who will be appearing for NEET 2019 Exam must know the minimum age to apply for the NEET 2019 Exam. Candidates who are 17 years of age as on December 31st, 2019 are eligible to apply for the exam. At this point, it has to be noted that even if the candidate is not 17 years old, but will become on that date, then also they are eligible to apply.
The minimum and maximum age of candidates should be as follows as per NEET 2019 Age Limit.

As per existing rules for NEET exam, there will be relaxation in the age for the candidates who want to apply for the NEET 2019. However, it has to be noted that this relaxation is only for some reserved categories of the applicants. Have a look at it below.
An age relaxation of 5 years will be provided for the candidates who are belonging to either of the following categories:
- Scheduled Caste (SC)
- Scheduled Tribe (ST)

Until now, NTA (National Testing Agency) has not published the age limit of NEET 2019. However, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has confirmed that for NEET 2019 nothing will change, the mode and frequency of exams will be same as last year. Cut Off Date To Calculate Age
As per last year’s NEET information brochure,
- Candidate’s lower age will be calculated as on 31 December of the year of admission.
- Whereas the upper age will be calculated on date of exam.
This means that:
- Candidate should be at least 17 years as on 31.12.2019. Therefore date of birth should be after 01.01.2003.
- Candidate should be at max 25 years old (UR) or 30 years old (SC/ST/OBC), on the date of exam.
NTA Will Clarify Cut Off Date For NEET 2019 Upper Age Limit
The second point, regarding cut off date of NEET 2019 age limit is confusing.
This is because earlier it was announced that NEET will be conducted two times a year and in Computer-based. However, this has been changed. Hence, anticipating anything about the eligibility criteria for NEET 2019 at this point of time is this time is not valid.
NEET 2019 is scheduled to be held on May 05, 2019.
So what will be the cut off date for upper age limit is the question.

It is expected that NTA will give a fixed timeline within which candidates should have been born in order to be eligible for NEET 2019. Chances are less that the cut off date for upper age limit will be calculated for each exam date will remain.
NEET 2019 Attempts Limit
Candidates may note that there is no attempts limit in the NEET exam. After many court hearings, the attempts limit has been removed. So as long as candidates fulfill the age limit and other conditions, they can apply.
What Happens If Candidates Above 25 Years (or 30) Apply?
If candidates who are older than specified age limit apply, then they may not get NEET 2019 result. Even if they do, then also they will not get a seat of MBBS or BDS in any medical or dental college that is accepting NEET scores. However, candidates can then explore other options like AIIMS 2019 and JIPMER 2019.
NTA is a new organization which is taking over the responsibility to conduct NEET from CBSE. From 2019 onwards, NTA will conduct NEET exam. The largest changes in NEET from 2019 are:
