There are many types of half sleeve t-shirts. Which one to wear?

See, the whole purpose of dress code for NEET 2018 is avoid cheating and malpractices. Clothes in which frisking is easy, hassle free, and avoids harassment of students are recommended. If you wear a simple t shirt which has half sleeves, then authorities can easily frisk you. Also, at any time you will not be doubted about hiding wireless equipments or chits. So just wear a simple, light, half sleeve tshirt in which you are comfortable.

Which trouser to wear?

There are several types of trousers in market. Go for a really simple one, without too many pockets or such things which may arouse suspicion (that you are hiding anything). Color is not a concern.

Can I wear jeans on NEET 2018 exam date?

Since jeans is not included in the list of clothes allowed by CBSE, please do not wear them. You can either wear a trouser or salwar.

Can I wear simple shoes?

No. Please wear slippers, or sandals with low heels only.

You can wear sandals with low heels as per the NEET 2018 information brochure.

Even if I am in dress code, will I undergo frisking at the NEET 2018 exam centre?

My dress has a brooch and big buttons. Can I wear it?

No. Your dress should not have big buttons or brooches or badges. Please wear light clothes with half sleeves without big buttons or brooches or badges.

Is jewellery allowed as per NEET 2018 Dress Code?

Candidates are not allowed any accessories. So avoid jewellery. Also, at exam centre, there will not be any arrangements to keep your accessories or jewellery. So if you have to remove them at centre, then you cannot keep it anywhere. So it is better to avoid wearing them.

Purpose of NEET 2018 Dress Code

CBSE has outlined the dress code for NEET 2018. In addition, there is also a list of barred items. So if any barred item includes accessories or are a wearable thing, then you cannot have those also.

You can wear

  • Light clothes with half sleeves
  • Salwar
  • Trouser
  • Slippers
  • Sandals with low heels

That’s it. This is all that you can wear.

In simple terms, on the upper half of your body, you can only wear a half sleeved dress which is light. In the lower half you can only wear salwar or trouser. And on feet you can only wear slippers or sandals. You cannot and should not wear anything except these.

You cannot even wear shoes.

Oh, and also your dress should not have big buttons or brooches or badges.

All this might seem too strict, but it is only for the benefit of students.

In many entrance exams, cases of cheating are found where students hide chits or notes in jeans, frilly clothes, sleeves of shirts, sole of shoes. All these dresses that are allowed by CBSE are those in which it is difficult to hide anything.

Considering that the exam is in the month of May, when the temperature is quite high, it is also convenient to wear half sleeved clothes. Big buttons or brooches or badges are often used to hide communication devices, so those are also banned.

Here is a complete list of things you cannot take inside exam hall. This also includes some wearables. You should also check your admit card of NEET 2018 to see if anything else is in this list.

    • Please wear either trousers or salwar. Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj (Director-CBSE NEET) said in his address on AIR FM Rainbow that dress code is in place so that candidates can quickly undergo checking/frisking. If one wears such clothes in which checking takes time, then a lot of time will be wasted at centre for checking. Best of luck for NEET 2018! 🙂
