DNB-PDCET is an entrance examination for entry to post-diploma DNB 2 years postgraduate courses. It is an essential pre-requisite which the candidate has to clear.

DNB PDCET 2018 Exam

DNB PDCET 2018 is an online computer based test. The questions in this exam will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) types. The questions will come up from 6 specialities. Let’s have a look at the other important things which the candidate must know about DNB PDCET 2018 Exam.

Total Number of Questions: 300
Total time of the Paper: 3 hours

Candidates will have to answer all the questions within this time period only. The total marks of the candidates will be calculated according to marking scheme set by NBE.

DNB PDCET 2018 Sections

The aspirants must know about the sections and the number of questions which will appear in each of the section. Check the list below to know about it.

  • Human Biology (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry)- 50 Questions
  • Applied Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology- 50 questions
  • Medicine and Allied Sciences- 50 questions
  • Surgery and Allied Sciences- 50 questions
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology- 50 questions
  • Community Medicine including Basic Statistics & Research Methodology-50 questions

DNB PDCET 2018 Marking Scheme

For every correct answer that the candidate marks, 4 marks will be awarded. 25% of the allotted marks i.e. 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong answers. For unattempted questions, no marks will be deducted. There is a provision of keeping the answers as “Marked for Review” in the DNB CET 2018 Exam. For these answers, the marking scheme will be the same as that of normal questions.

What is Marked for Review?

Candidates who will be giving the DNB PDCET 2018 exam must know about this feature. In the exam, if a candidate is not sure of the answer or wants to attempt the question later, they can keep the answers under review and move on to the next question.

The questions which have been put under review need to be answered within the time limit only. No extra time will be provided to answer those questions. The same marking scheme will be applicable to these questions as well.

DNB CET 2018 Exam Day Instructions

On the exam day, the candidates will have to ensure few things so that they do not face any difficulty which might irritate them and hence perform poorly in the exam. First of all, it must be strictly ensured that they reach the exam hall atleast an hour before the mentioned time of reporting. If they report late, they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

Secondly, they must ensure that they bring the admit card with them along with some other documents. They would not be allowed to enter the exam hall, if they do not bring the required documents.

It might be possible that the frisking process is there. Candidates must coordinate in the process with them and not hamper their work in any manner.
