DNB CET SS 2020 – The DNB-CET SS will be conducted by NBE at test centers engaged for the purpose. Candidates’ eligibility is purely provisional & is subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NBE to appear in the test. DNB CET SS 2020

Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test – Super Specialty is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for entry to various Super Specialty courses. Applicant may kindly note that appearance in DNB-CETSS does not confer any automatic rights to score a seatinNBEaccredited hospital/institute.

DNB CET SS 2020 Eligibility Criteria

As per previous year information, the required eligibility is as below:

  • Candidates who are in possession of postgraduate medical degrees/ Provisional Pass Certificates by in eligible specialties and their medical qualifications are recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 or DNB qualifications may apply for DNB-CETSS through online application. Candidates should have completed his/her 3 years (36 Months) of MD/ MS training.
  • The applicant must also have the permanent registration certificate of MBBS qualification. Any additional medical qualification must also be registered with MCI.
  • It is very important to ensure that the candidates is registered with M.C.I / State Medical Council. The necessary proof for registration will be required during counselling.

DNB CET SS 2020 Application Form

The application form for the examination will be issued on the NBE website. The candidates could only access it online from the official website. In order to submit the form, it was first needed to register. You entered the following information during registration:

  • Name (Full Name)
  • Father’s Name
  • Mother’s Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Birth
  • Gender
  • Address
  • ID Proof Details
  • Contact Details.

After the registration, the candidates got Candidate ID and Password. You can login by submitting the ID and Password at any time. After login is open enter Education Details, Pay Fee, Choose Exam City, and Upload Images.

DNB CET SS Admit Card 2020

The admit card of DNB Superspeciality entrance exam will state the details about the candidate, exam, and the center allocated by the Board. NBE will send the admit card at the candidate’s registered e-mail id, approximately 4 days before the examination. You will receive intimation regarding the issuance of the admit card will through SMS and public notice. The candidates need to download the admit card and affix a passport size photograph on it. The photograph must be identical to the one uploaded in the application form.

At the exam hall, along with the admit card, the candidates will also have to carry:

  • One Photo ID Proof – PAN Card / Driving Licence / Passport / Voter ID / Aadhaar Card
  • Photocopy of Permanent or Provisional SMC / MCI registration

DNB CET SS 2020 Exam Pattern

NBE will prepare one question paper each for Super Specialties in Medical, Surgical, Pediatric, and Super Specialties for MD/DNB Anesthesiology. The detailed exam pattern of DNB CET SS 2020 is as mentioned below:

Mode of the Exam: Computer Based Examination.
Exam Duration: 3 hours
Number of Questions: 180 questions
Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions
Total Marks: 720 marks
Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 4 marks. There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

The question paper will consist of the questions for the admission to the following Specialties.:

  • Medical Super Specialties
  • Surgical Super Specialties
  • Pediatric Super Specialties.
  • for all Super Specialties for which MD/DNB Anesthesiology is the eligible qualification.

Medical Genetics: Candidates with MD/DNB qualification in General Medicine or Pediatrics who are desirous of pursuing DNB Medical Genetics will have to attempt 30 extra questions pertaining to Medical Genetics in addition to 180 questions in General Medicine or Pediatrics respectively *.

*DNB-CETSS for Medical and Pediatric Super Specialties will be a two-section test with both the sections separately timed. The first sectioncomprising of 180 multiple- choice questions (MCQs) with single correct response is mandatory for all candidates. The total duration of the first section is 180 minutes. The second section comprising of 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) Medical Genetics is for those candidates ONLY who wish to pursue DNB- Medical Genetics. The total duration of the second section is 30 minutes

DNB SS 2020 Exam Centers

The candidates have to choose the center choice while filling the application form. We advise that the candidates choose the exam city wisely because the provision to change it will not be provided by NBE. The exam center list for DNB CET SS 2020 is not released yet. DNB CET Superspeciality 2020 Result

All candidates appearing in the exam shall be given a merit position based on the marks obtained by them. The validity of the result of the DNB-CETSS shall be only for the current admission session and cannot be carried forward for the next session of DNB-CETSS. The mark sheet-cum-result certificate for the DNB-CETSS examination can be downloaded from NBE website http://www.nbe.edu.in after the
declaration of result.

There is no provision for re-checking or re-totaling or re-evaluation of the question paper, answers, marks and no query in this regard will be entertained.

Tie-Breaking Criteria:

As per previous year information, in the event of two or more candidates obtaining the same marks, the merit position shall be determined by the following criteria:

  • The candidate who has more number of correct responses shall be placed at higher merit position.
  • Failing which, candidates who fulfill the Minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed in this Information Bulletin and possess Post Graduate Medical qualification certified by any one of the following shall be place higher in the merit:
    • National Board of Examinations India OR
    • Royal Colleges of various disciplines UK OR
    • American Board of various disciplines USA OR
    • Royal Colleges of various disciplines Canada OR
    • Royal Colleges of various disciplines Australia
  • Based on the marks obtained in the Post Graduate Exit Examination of eligibility qualification (wherever available).

If the tie is not resolved by above criteria or marks are not available the merit position shall be determined using the following criteria in descending order:

  • Candidate who has passed all MBBS professional Examinations in First attempt shall be placed at higher merit position.
  • Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS professional Examinations shall be placed at higher merit position.
  • Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in 3rd MBBS professional Examination (Part-I & Part-II) shall be placed at higher merit position.
  • Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in 2nd MBBS professional Examination shall be placed at higher merit position.
  • Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in 1st MBBS professional Examination shall be placed at higher merit position.
  • Failing which, date of birth of the candidate will be taken into consideration. Older candidate will be placed at a better merit position.

DNB CET SS Counselling

The counselling of DNB CET Superspeciality will be on the merit-cum-choice basis. There shall be three rounds of counselling and in each, there will be seat allocation on the basis of merit and preference. NBE will announce the schedule of counselling after the declaration of result. The qualified candidates will have to remit the counselling fee. NBE will conduct Group-specific merit-based counselling.

Candidate has to be present in person on the day of his/her counseling to participate in the counseling for opting for a confirmed seat at scheduled time specified in his/her Rank Letter. Authorized representative on behalf of candidate shall be permitted only after due approval of NBE in exceptional circumstances only at the sole discretion of NBE.

List of Required Documents

Candidates have to bring the following documents in original

  • Rank Letter downloaded from NBE website www.natboard.edu.in.
  • In the event of two or more candidates obtaining the same marks, the relevant documents to resolve the tie shall be produced by the candidate at the time of counselling.
  • MBBS Degree certificate.
  • DNB, MD/MS Degree certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate*
  • Permanent Registration certificate issued by MCI/State Medical Council for registration of MBBS qualification.
  • Matriculation/High School/Higher Secondary Certificate as a proof of Date of Birth.
  • Proof of declaration of result of qualifying Post Graduate Medical st Qualification (MD/MS/DNB).
  • Proof of training completion of qualifying Post Graduate Medica st Qualification (MD/MS/DNB).
  • Matriculation/High School/Higher Secondary Certificate as a proof of Date of Birth.
  • Any document (Bonafide certificate/Mark sheet/Attempt Certificate etc issued by concerned institution/medical college) confirming the name of the institution/medical college from where the MD/MS qualification was pursued.
  • Any other relevant certificate or document.
