NEET 2018 Counselling
NEET 2018 Counselling is conducted after the results of the exam have been declared. The counselling is for admissions to the 15% All India Quota seats and 85% State Quota seats. How is the NEET 2018 Counselling conducted?
The NEET 2018 Counselling for 15% All India Quota seats is conducted for admissions to the medical and dental colleges of India as per the merit list prepared by CBSE. Only those students are allowed to participate in this counselling who have cleared the NEET 2018 Exam as per the cutoff set by CBSE.
The eligible students have to first get themselves registered for the counselling process. After registering for the counselling, the students will fill their choices for the colleges. It has to be ensured that the students fill and lock their choices before the last date. The result for the counselling will be announced after the choice filling process has been conducted.
The students who are allotted the college of their choice will have to report to the allotted college to complete all the document verification and the related process.
How to withdraw from the NEET 2018 Counselling process?
The students will be allotted the colleges as per the rank obtained by them in NEET 2018 Exam. In case, the student who wishes to withdraw from the counselling process can do so. The process for withdrawal is different for each of the rounds of the counselling. There will be 2 rounds for NEET 2018 Online All India Quota UG Counseling-2018 and 3 rounds of counselling for Online Deemed/Central Universities.
For each of the above, the first round will have a free exit. This means that the student can exit from the first round counselling if they have been allotted a seat in Ist Round and even if they do not report to the allotted college they would not be penalized. They also can appear for the consecutive counselling rounds with the same registration Id of the first round.
However, during the second counselling round, the candidates who are participating in it, get the college, are not allowed to exit from the counselling procedure. However, there is another option. If the candidate who has been allotted seat in this round, but does not want to join the college can exit from the counselling process. They will have to exit with forfeiture of the security money.
What does exit for forfeiture means in 2nd Counselling Round?
It means that if a candidate is allotted a seat in 2nd round of counselling but does not want to join the allotted seat will lose the security amount deposited at the time of registration. Those who have joined the allotted seat will not be eligible for resigning/surrender of joined seat in the 2nd counselling round.
NEET 2018 Counselling Registration Fee
The students must have noticed that the security money will not be refunded and the rest of the deposit will be refunded. The candidates thus must know about the fees which the students have to give at the time of registration process. Take a look.
- For Deemed Universities a Non-Refundable Registration fee of Rs. 5000 which is same for all candidates and a refundable Security amount of Rs. 2,00,000 has to be submitted at the time of registration process.
- For 15% All India Quota)/ Central Universities (DU, AMU, BHU and Jamia Millia Islamia,Delhi)/AFMS & ESI a Non Refundable Registration fee of Rs. 1000 for UR candidates & Rs. 500/- For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates will be there. Another refundable security amount of Rs.10,000 for UR candidates & Rs. 5,000 for SC/ST/OBC/PH.
Thus the candidate of all the categories will get the deposit amount back and the security money will not be refunded in the 2nd round of counselling. This fee will be refunded to the institution where the candidate has taken admission and will be adjusted against the first year annual fee. In case, candidate is not allotted any seat in all rounds of
counselling including stray vacancy round, the fee will be refunded in the account provided by the candidate at the time of registration. Security fee will be refunded only after the completion of counseling.
