AIIMS PhD 2018 July Session

Latest Notice: In accordance with directions received from Academic Section, AIIMS, New Delhi,it is hereby notified that some more Ph.D seats for various departments are likely to be added for the session July, 2018. Consequent upon, the admission process against the admission Advertisement No.21/2018 dated 26th June, 2018 is kept on hold with immediate effect and other subsequent processes are postponed till further orders. The application form will be re-opened again for the same. For this purpose, the dates will be announced in due course. The fees paid by applicants who have registered for AIIMS Ph.D. July 2018, through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card between 28.06.2018 and 12.07.2018 will be considered in order for re-open of Online Registration which will commence later.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate applying for the PhD programme must possess the following qualifications.

  • Medical qualification- MBBS/BDS with 50% min. or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh or Diplomate of NBE.
  • Nursing Qualification- candidates holding M.Sc degree with 50% min. in Nursing speciality may also be able to apply.
  • Non- medical candidates- candidates who are not from medical background must have attained a minimum of 60% in a valid 2 years Master degree.

Note- Candidates who possess M.Sc/ Degree & BAMS will be eligible for the

Non-medical qualification category.

Desired qualification by AIIMS- a candidate from non-medical background who clear the following qualifying examination will be prefered for research.

AIIMS PhD 2018 Exam Pattern

Candidates looking for joining AIIMS 2018 July PhD programme must compulsorily clear a 3 stage examination.

Stage-I consists of multiple questions of 30 marks 1 mark each. The topics will be covering English, Biostatistics, Research methodology, Cell biology Lab technology etc.

Stage-II 40 multiple choice question os 1 mark each. A total of 40 marks for this section. Questions will be related to theory based concepts taught at MD/ MS/ MDS/ M.Sc entrance level.

Total marks 70 marks of both stages. Total duration of both the stages will be 90 minutes.

Stage-III- both the above stage are of qualifying nature. Therefore, candidates who secure 50% or above in the written test will appear in stage-III. Stage- III will be a practical test. Candidates 3 times more than the seats will be invited for Departmental clinical/ practical/ lab based assessment. This test will carry 20 marks.

Note- candidates who hold Medical degree (MBBS/ DNB/ MD/ MS/ DM/ M.Ch.) or M.Sc. (Nursing) will be given 10 marks additional. This 10% will be applicable only if the candidate secures more than 50% in both the qualifying stages. And for non medical students 10 marks will be given extra if they have already qualified the mentioned qualifying examinations such as UGC NET, ICMR-JRF etc.

Evaluation process

Candidates will get the questions in MCQ manner. Each correct response will attract 1 mark and each incorrect answer will have penalty of -/3 marks. No credit will be given to questions left unmarked.

AIIMS PhD 2018 Application Form

Applications will be made in online mode using the official web portal at candidates will undergo a 7 step application process. In the process, they will register first, then provide Personal details, qualification details, experience details, some details will not allowed to be changed in the application form after registration. The categories are Name, Category, Department and OPH status after submitting the application fee through Debit/ Credit Card/ Net Banking and images once uploaded can not be changed later. Other changes in the online Registration/Application i.e. Nationality, Sponsored to General, General to Sponsored etc. will NOT be permitted after a limited period of time.

Candidates may also be required to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and thumb impression etc.

Candidates are informed that other than the dates there is no official information on the application process. So here we are providing details of the amount that the candidates were required to pay as per last year.

AIIMS PhD Admit Card 2018

AIIMS PhD 2018 Admit Card might be issued in 01st week of July 2018 on the website. Candidates looking forward to download their Admit Card for appearing in the PhD exam must be able to provide valid details. The admit card will be uploaded on the candidate login account in the due course. You should have the followings nearby ready for use (i) Candidate ID and (ii) Password. Filtering these details you will gain access to your AIIMS account.

AIIMS PhD 2018 July Session Result

Results for Ph.D. Programme 2018 July session will be available on the official website of the institute at Result will be announced in 2 stages. Result of Stage I i.e. CBT test will be announced by 13 July 2018 (Friday). After that a Departmental Assessment (Stage II) result will be announced on 24 July 2018 (Tuesday). Final Result notification will be declared on 27 July 2018 (Friday). Individual result will not be sent on telephone so candidates are advised NOT to call the Examination Section for such information.
