About AIIMS PG 2019
There are some important things which the candidate must know about the exam. AIIMS PG 2019 is for admissions to the MD, MS, M.Ch. (6 YRS.), DM (6 YRS.), M.D.S courses. This exam is conducted 2 times in a year for January and July session. The students can apply for the exam at any time.
One thing which the candidate has to check is that they satisfy the eligibility criteria or not. If the candidate is found not satisfying the eligibility criteria, their application will be cancelled.
AIIMS PG 2019 Exam Pattern
Now that we have discussed what the exam is all about, the next important thing which the candidate has to know is the exam pattern. This page is all about that only. We will give in detail exam pattern for each of the course so that the students have an idea what they can expect in the exam and not be unprepared for it.
Let’s check the exam pattern of each course under AIIMS PG 2019. This is as per the AIIMS PG 2019 Exam Pattern. Candidates preparing for AIIMS PG 2019 can refer this for preparation. It is expected to remain same for this year as well.
- MD/MS Exam Pattern: MD is Doctor of Medicine. The exam for this is conducted in online mode. It is known as Computer Based Test (CBT). The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
For this exam, the candidate has to answer 200 questions. The questions will be objective in nature and have to be answered in the given time. The questions will be from the subjects at the MBBS Level which the students have studied during that time.
After knowing the exam pattern, the candidate must also know the marking scheme of the exam as well. It will help during the exam preparation. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark and 0.33 marks will be deducted for the incorrectly marked answers.
The answers which have been marked for review or which have not been answered will not be evaluated and hence no marks will be awarded or deducted for the same.
- MDS Exam Pattern: The MDS course is for those students who have completed their undergraduate in the dental course. The course for it is Bachelor in Dental Sciences (BDS). The questions in the exam will be from the BDS course only. There will be in total 90 questions for this in the paper. The aspirant has to answer the 90 questions in 1.5 hours.
This exam also will be conducted in an online mode. The marking scheme of the exam is same as that of MD/ MS. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted. No marks will be awarded for the incorrectly answered questions.
- M.Ch/DM Course- Both the M.Ch and DM courses are super specialization courses. For M.Ch and DM courses, the candidate has to answer 80 questions in total 1.5 hours. The questions will be objective in nature and in the English language.
The exam will be conducted in 2 stages. In the first stage, the candidate has to answer 80 questions of 90 minutes each. In the second stage, there will be separate 20 marks for Departmental Assessment. The next important thing which the candidate must know is the marking scheme for this course.
For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark and for wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted. For answers which have been marked for review or not answered, no marks will be awarded.
