AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria – In order to get into All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), which is considered to the temple of medical excellence, a candidate will be needing to fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down by AIIMS. On this page, we have mentioned the AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria specifying the minimum age limit, minimum marks, and minimum educational qualification that an MBBS aspirant will be expected to fulfill. OCI and Foreign national candidates can also apply for AIIMS 2019 examination if they are eligible and also they can submit prescribed documents. Only, after knowing all the eligibility norm, a candidate must fill and submit their AIIMS 2019 application forms, before the last date.

Importance Of Knowing the Eligibility CriteriaWhy miss an opportunity when you are so close to living your big dream?! Prior to appearing for an entrance exam, it becomes mandatory to know and fulfill the eligibility norms as laid by the authorities. Especially, when it is a national level medical examination like AIIMS. Candidates applying against fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be denied admission and their candidature will be canceled on these same grounds. Moreover, the application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.


AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Broadly, the AIIMS 2019 eligibility criteria have been divided into 3 categories – Age Limit, Minimum Qualification, and Minimum Marks. We have discussed these 3 categories in details.

Following Eligibility Criteria is for Indian Nationals for AIIMS 2019:

AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria   Know Age Limit, Minimum Marks Required

  • Age Criteria – 
  1. A candidate must be 17 years old or above as on 31st of December 2019.
  2. A candidate born on 2nd January 2003 or after is not eligible to apply.

➡️ Note that, unlike NEET 2019, there is no upper age limit for AIIMS 2019.

  • Academic Qualification –
  1. Candidate must have passed his or her Class 12.
  2. He or she must have done his or her Class 12 from CBSE or ISC or any other recognized board of  Indian State.
  3. He or she must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects in his or her Class 12.

➡️ All those candidates whose Class 12 results awaited or are yet to be announced, can even apply for AIIMS 2019. But their candidature will only be considered valid once their marks out and they are meeting the minimum marks requirements. 

➡️ If a foreign candidate wishes to appear for this competitive exam, he or she must be able to produce a certificate from a concerned Indian University or Association of Indian Universities, certifying that he or she has passed his or her Class 12. 

  • Minimum Marks Required –
  1. The minimum percentage of marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology secured by an AIIMS aspirant should be 60% for General and OBC candidates.
  2. For SC/CT/PWBD candidates, minimum marks requirement is for 50%.

➡️ Candidates need to opt for conversion factor while filling their application forms, if their scores are in CGPA. Note that, the conversion factor should be according to a respective board of examination.

Eligibility For OCI or NRI candidates

Overseas Citizen of India(OCI) or Non-Resident Indians(NRI) candidates are also eligible to appear for the AIIMS 2019 entrance test. The terms and conditions that will be applicable to the Indian Nationals will also be applicable to OCI candidates. Candidates falling under these categories need to submit their certificates or documents as per the Section 7 of the Citizenship Act of 1955.

Eligibility For Foreign Nationals

Candidates falling under the Foreign National category need not have to appear for the AIIMS 2019 entrance examination. Foreign National candidates need to at least have secured 50% marks in Physics, English,  Chemistry, and Biology in the 10+2 or equivalent level. These candidates need to contact the Indian Mission or Post of their respective countries as well as the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for nomination purposes.

After going through the AIIMS 2019 Eligibility criteria, candidates can start filling and submitting their online applications at aiimsexams.org or can directly click here, after the link has been activated. All candidates will be required to fill some of their personal, educational, contact and course-related details, along with uploading the scanned images of thumb impression, signature, and photograph. Only after the application forms have been successfully submitted by a candidate (before the last date), he or she will be provided with a link to retrieve their AIIMS 2019 Admit Cards via online mode.
